Image showing various AI handshakes clearly nonsense.

Early in the talk of AI I was super excited about what the possibilities were going to be. So what changed?

Theft of materials to train AI without permission or compensation was my first beef. Add that to the enshitification of being able to search for any relevant information because the results are chock full of blatantly false bullshit created by AI pretending to be factual. The cherry on the cake is the grotesque amount of resources used to do things people don't think twice about like 3 bottles of water to generate 100 words of nonsense. This week I read Bill Gates wants to spin up the nuclear plant at Three Mile Island. It already failed years ago. How about NO! While one can argue they could set up solar farms to pay the price of the electricity there is an increasing issue with the amount of clean water available for basic things like, you know, supporting human life!
