 It must be the season of the scam. In the mail the other day I get two domain renewal notices from Domain Registry of Canada. Why is this a scam you ask? Because the domains are NOT registered with Domain Registry of Canada and never were. I get my domain renewal notices via email and when I log into my account.
Why am I so riled up about this? Because if you don't take time to read these notices carefully you just see that your domain is due to renew and this is how to pay for it. What it doesn't tell you it that by renewing with Domain Registry of Canada they are transfering your domain to them. Your old log in information is gone. As you can see from a scan of the expiration notice it even looks official. Don't be fooled.
If you have already given them your money stop reading this right now and call and cancel payment. If it is past 5 days but not yet 60 days you have some hope of getting the domain back but forget about your money.
What I can't understand for the life of me is why a supposedly legitimate company would put their reputation on the line running this scam with the novice domain owner and unsuspecting.
If AM Graphix already manages your domain you won't get these renewals. I will send you a renewel from me. Thankfully for this non-profit I work with the scam stopped here!
